Thieves are not Tolerated in China

So I was browsing the net recently, and I suddenly remembered about an interesting video I saw in the past that I thought would be fun to blog about. The first video was of a thief on a motorcycle in China, who committed a drive-by theft of a woman's purse. The lady immediately ran after the thief, followed by a couple of other people. Suddenly, the man on the motorcycle turns back and crashes into a car. Everyone then unites and starts punishing the thief. Two unique things are seen in this video: the strength and unity of the Chinese community, and it's tolerance for crime.

This video leads to my second video, in which is another situation where a group of civilians catch a thief. However, in this situation, it is seen more graphically. The thieves are brutally beaten; having their heads smashed against the floor, and bricks jammed and thrown on their hands and bodies.

 

One can argue that this is inhumane, and I must agree that it is to an extent. I do believe that the thieves have it coming if they get caught for committing a crime. But having bricks blasted at their body parts is going a bit over the edge. It can be put in the same category of punishment by the electric chair. Although it might still seem very wrong, I still have to say again, that they did deserve what was coming to them. The Chinese have no tolerance when it comes to breaking the rules.
