Who's side are you on?

Here's a video where a fight breaks loose on a bus between a 67 year old Vietnam veteran, Tom Bruso, and a young African-American man, Michael. The fight started when Tom Bruso, talks about having his shoes shined before his friend's wedding. Michael overheard Bruso's conversation, and replies with "Why does a brother gotta shine your shoes?" He misinterpreted Bruso's conversation and thought that Bruso was directing the comment at him. An argument broke loose, and Tom stood up and decided to try to avoid any further confrontation between him and Michael, so he walked to the front of the bus. Michael then followed him and bombarded him with hostile comments and then walks back to his seat. As Michael was heading back to his seat, Tom lets out a final remark, which lead to Michael running furiously at the 67 year old vet. Michael throws a fist at Tom, which was followed by 3 massive blows to Michael's head. Tom was furious and stormed out of the bus, leaving Michael all battered and bloody on the floor.

This is the video:

After the fight both men were interviewed. Tom's side of the story was that he was simply talking about his friend's wedding and getting his shoes spit shined, then when Michael budded in, he asked, as to start conversation, how much he would charge to get his shoes spit shined.

Michael's side of the story was that Tom actually directed the question at him to spit shine his shoe, which caused him to react this way. He also stated that he was a bit intoxicated.

Here is the full interview with Michael and snippets of the interview with Tom Bruso:

So who do YOU think is telling the truth? Who's side are you on? I personally think that Tom Bruso was telling the truth and that he tried his best to avoid a fight. The evidence of the videos proves Tom's innocence.
